Celtic are expecting to find at some stage today when their Scottish Cup tie at Ibrox will be played.

The match was only confirmed last Sunday with Premier Sports quick to schedule it for 4pm on Saturday to maximise their potential audience.

On Saturday it was announced that a funeral will take place at 3pm on Saturday with sporting events, including the Scottish Grand National switched to avoid a clash. The horse-race will now be run on Sunday.

A Saturday lunchtime or Sunday slot seems most likely with talks required with Premier Sports and Police Scotland to come to an arrangement.

Sunday might suit Celtic better if it gives James Forrest an extra day to recover with the extent of his knock from the win over Livingston still to be established.

Premier Sports have the Aberdeen v Lingston match scheduled for 2pm on Sunday, the Ibrox match could take that slot with the Pittodrie match shifted without too much concern for the local Police.

Celtic are away to Aberdeen on Wednesday April 21 which rules out pushing the match back from the weekend.
