Luca Connell, Brody Paterson and Ryan Mullen were celebrating last night as Queens Park picked up the point that crowned them as Second Division champions.
Elgin City managed a 0-0 draw to end a run of nine straight wins but the hard work had been put in on Saturday with a 3-2 win away to Edinburgh City to put the title within sight.
Connell and Paterson played their seventh game in the 18 match campaign with the top five splitting off to play each other with the Spiders able to plan for next season in League One.
Having gone full-time last season Queens were strong favourites to go up but with the season starting in October, halting in January and Hampden Park out of bounds it hasn’t quite been plain sailing for Ray McKinnon’s squad who have been captained by Peter Grant Junior.

With a full-time set up so close to Celtic Park it seems likely that a few young Celtic players will be sent on loan to Queens next season. Mullen was back up goalkeeper since the season resumed last month with first choice, Willie Muir, having a short spell in the Celtic youth set-up as back-up to Robbie Thomson.
