Steven Gerrard is feigning anger at the SFA after the appeal of his five Covidiots was rejected by the SFA.

Two months and eight days after being issued with Fixed Penalties for attending a house party with five randoms Nathan Patterson and his mates will have to sit out four matches.

The long drawn out saga neatly covers James Tavernier’s injury with the club captain making his comeback in the midweek draw with St Johnstone as starlet Patterson returned to his usual place on the bench.

While Gerrard mumps and moans he should be grateful that none of his side’s matches were postponed.

Back in August the SFA stepped in to postpone two Celtic matches within 48 hours of news breaking that Boli Bolingoli hadn’t self-isolated after taking a trip to Spain. On day 18 the defender was given a three match ban.

In stark contrast the SFA have been very accommodating to the club from Ibrox, despite that Gerrard told the Daily Record:

We’re obviously not too happy about it. I said last week we were frustrated and disappointed that all the players were going to receive a ban.

It’s not just about Nathan. They are all as important as each other. I’m frustrated and disappointed they won’t be available for the next four games but it is what it is. We accept it. We put a statement out that I back very much and we move forward.

No action has been taken by the SFA for the rule breaking over March 6 and 7 when Mr Gerrard screamed out the dressing room to fans breaking the law while boozed up players performed to crowds at Murray Park then car shared out of the state-of-the-art training complex.
