Henrik Larsson took time out to record a video message to the local Celtic fans ahead of Barcelona’s clash with Valencia next weekend.
The St Patrick’s Club in Valencia show all Celtic matches and decided to invite the King of King’s to drop in when he is in town.
It was a light hearted request to the Barcelona Media office but an almost apologetic Larsson sent a video message that left no one in any doubt about his feelings for his old club.
Fair play to the King for taking time out to send the club a message. With Barca travelling to the Mestalla soon, we chanced our arm at a meet up but with covid restrictions this was a nice consolation prize. Thanks to Henrik and Barca for the gesture. Hail Hail ? pic.twitter.com/8RIOeLA3w0

Even 17 years after his emotional farewell the sight of Larsson talking about Celtic brings satisfaction and a reminder of some incredible times.
Under Martin O’Neill and alongside Chris Sutton, Paul Lambert, Stan Petrov, Bobo Balde and others Celtic Park was a genuine fortress in Europe rather than a happy hunting ground for middle of the road clubs from Hungary, Romania and the Czech Republic.
After seven years at Celtic there was no winding down from the 242 goal Swede. At Barcelona he won the 2006 Champions League and the respect of star studded team-mates before a very brief stop off at Manchester United where he made a similar impact.
Absolutely delighted! ?

Over the moon. Was a complete long shot but everyone at the club is buzzing with it. Hopefully we can catch up with him next year
