Jack Ross was very laid back about a decision that could well have cost his team at least a point at Ibrox.

Trailing 2-0 with 18 minutes left to play a goal for the visitors changes the complexion of the game, makes the closing stages live as Hibs look to cement third place and a Europa League place that begins at the Third Qualifying Round.

Waiting for a corner in the penalty box Ryan Porteous and Filip Helander match each other’s moves jostle for the ball.

The Swede goes too early, Porteous gets an effort on goal, Allan McGregor blocks it but the Hibs defender follows up to net.

Pointless. Don Robertson has apparently spotted a foul on Helander. If there was a foul then he could blow at every corner, there is always contact, it is impossible to be in a penalty box at a corner and not be involved in contact.

As always, I get the opportunity to see it before I come and speak. It’s not a foul, but that happens through the course of every single game, you get some decisions go for you, some don’t but if you’re asking me if it’s a foul I don’t think anybody watching it would think it’s a foul. It’s just body to body, that happens at times in the game so you mention fine margins in moments in games and that was one.

Hibs did score through Kevin Nisbet in the 78th minute with the match ending in a 2-1 defeat. In 34 SPFL matches this season Steven Gerrard’s side haven’t had a player sent off or a penalty awarded against them.
