John Kennedy expects to have his first meeting with Dom McKay at some stage next week.

While the Interim Manager prepares a squad of players for a do-or-die cup tie at Ibrox Celtic’s next CEO moves into his new office on Monday ahead of taking full control on July 1.

Appointing a manager will go a long way to deciding whether or not McKay is a success in his new role with Neil Lennon resigning almost two months ago.

There are a lot of jigsaw pieces still to be slotted into place with a win at Ibrox making life a little less strained for everyone at Celtic.

McKay’s relationship with a manager and probably a Director of Football will be key to the new set up with a meeting expected with Kennedy in the week ahead.

The Daily Record reports:

Kennedy expects to meet face to face for the first time with incoming chief executive Dominic McKay next week but his focus is firmly on Rangers. He said: “Possibly next week we might catch up at some point because he is coming in. The game is the main focus and then we will hopefully touch base at some point.”

After the Ibrox match Celtic are away to Aberdeen on Wednesday, all being well they will then host St Johnstone at the weekend for a place in the semi-final draw of the Scottish Cup.
