Kris Boyd has taken the unusual step of laughing off a report from Sky Sports.

The next time that the former Kilmarnock star takes a look at his bank account he’ll probably find a very healthy monthly transfer from the broadcaster helping to pay his bills.

Switching hat to The Sun, Boyd writes:

I had a laugh on Sky Sports the other night when Jose Mourinho was linked with the Celtic job. Right now? There’s not a chance that will happen.

Most Celtic fans will agree with that but it is never wise to be publishing criticism of an employer or questioning their credibility.

‘Mourinho to Celtic’ seems a classic knockabout story, it doesn’t do either party any damage and provides broadcasters and publishers plenty to chew over and debate.

A CV that includes Chelsea, Real Madrid, Inter Milan, Manchester United and Spurs will always attract attention but Mourinho left his last two jobs under a cloud and very well rewarded for what was essentially failure.

Two months on from Neil Lennon’s resignation most Celtic fans will be hoping that plans for a successor are well down the line and not turned upside down by an EPL sacking over the last couple of days.
