Luca Connell continued to impress as he helped Queens Park to a 1-0 win over Stirling Albion to go 10 points clear of three clubs at the top of League Two.

The midfielder had been in cold storage until a loan deal cropped up towards the end of March. Over the last 10 days he has made his u-21 debut for Ireland, scored his first senior goal and reinforced the Spiders place as promotion favourites.

Yesterday Connell turned provider with an inswinging corner that led to the only goal of the game.

Later in the day Celtic struggled to make anything from 12 corners against Falkirk, only an early short corner that presented Leigh Griffiths with a chance put the visitors’ goal under pressure.

Next up for Connell and Queens Park is Cowdenbeath at home (Falkirk) on Tuesday, with a run of four wins on the bounce since the league resumed five more wins could earn Queens automatic promotion before the league splits for four further matches.
