A Saturday evening Glasgow derby is likely to be kicked into touch by Police Scotland.

That is the view of Keith Jackson in the Daily Record with a rescheduled slot expected to be announced by the SFA at some stage on Monday.

The game has been scheduled for 4pm on Saturday since soon after the draw was made but a funeral being shown on television at 3pm has wiped that option out.

In most circumstances slipping the kick-off back to 6pm or 7pm would seem the logical step but discussing the situation in the Daily Record Jackson explains:

Any rearrangement of that explosive fixture will also require police approval and Hampden sources already suspect cops will look dimly on any plan to move it to a later kick-off time on Saturday night.

One source told us last night: “There are a variety of very complex factors which have to be fully considered. There have been a great deal of talks over the weekend and various proposals have been put forward but nothing will be decided until the morning when a planning meeting will take place.”

Saturday lunchtime would seem the likely solution but Premier Sports will want as clear a run as possible at capturing the biggest possible share of viewers.

Premier Sports will show the Aberdeen v Livingston match on Sunday at 2pm, that slot could be used for the Ibrox clash with another slot, possibly Saturday evening used for the action from Pittodrie.
