Scott Brown has admitted that uncertainty over who will manage Celtic next season influenced his decision to move to Aberdeen.

The club captain had the offer of a 12 month playing contract with Celtic on the table but had to weigh that up against a two year player coach offer from Stephen Glass at Aberdeen.

Over the last month there have been stories linking Roy Keane, Eddie Howe and others with the Celtic job but as he approaches his 36th birthday Brown wants to ensure that he has the chance to play on for two more seasons.

The loss of Brown adds to the rebuilding job that the next manager will have to undergo with the clock ticking towards Champions League qualifiers in July.

Losing the club captain is one of the big issues facing the next manager with key players out of contract in June 2022 as well as players taking part in Euro 2020 from June onwards.
