With less than four hours to go till kick-off time at McDiarmid Park tonight the SFA are remaining silent on the appeal against four match suspensions of the Ibrox Covidiots.

On April 2 the club from Ibrox put in their appeal, noting a Scottish Cup tie with Celtic on April 17 7 or 18 the SFA announced the date of the appeal as April 20.

Tuesday came and went without any news, by 3pm on matchday Steven Gerrard’s squad will be well into their routine for tonight’s game with the SFA afraid to announce the outcome of a run of the mill appeal.

Way back on Valentine’s Day Nathan Patterson and four team-mates decided that the laws of the land didn’t apply to elite athletes inside the Ibrox bubble and staged a house party with five mystery guests.

Police Scotland issued Fixed Penalties to all 10 law-breakers but fortunately for Patterson a few days later James Tavernier got a sore leg.

Back in August Celtic had two matches postponed after news emerged that Boli Bolingoli had failed to self-isolate after taking a trip to Spain. Eighteen days later the defender was given a three match ban.

With Peter Lawwell firmly on mute 18 days came and went without any activity from the SFA, something of a constant since July 2012.

Finally a four match ban was announced a few days after the March Glasgow Derby. The appeal went in three weeks ago with the hearing scheduled for two days after Celtic’s Scottish Cup tie at Ibrox.
