The wait goes on for Celtic fans with the 7am London Stock Market alarm call passing without any announcement from the club.

Over the last week fans have been fed a diet of expectation with strong hints that Dom McKay and Eddie Howe could be joining the club this week.

They could still be unveiled at some stage but for the fans that were looking for an early morning boost 7am came and passed without anything appearing on the LSE or the club website.

Neil Lennon’s resignation was announced at 7am with the same timeslot used for the Half Year Accounts and news of Directorate Change on January 29 when it was announced that Peter Lawwell was stepping down.

At the end of January McKay was announced as Lawwell’s successor but the July 1 start date seemed odd when a massive rebuilding job is required on and off the park. Celtic’s campaign to reach the group stage of the Champions League gets underway less than a fortnight later.

Since McKay’s announcement Neil Lennon has resigned with the club in the conundrum of trying to appoint a manager alongside a Director of Football.

The Sun has been ahead of the pack with this story, late last night they reported that Howe was looking to bring Richard Hughes with him while Celtic had Fergal Harkin lined up for that role.

Other than a Q and A with Dermot Desmond there has been no communications from Celtic, leaving fans to wait and wonder six weeks after Lennon resigned.
