Alan Nixon has claimed that Eddie Howe is stalling over taking on the Celtic manager’s job.
At the start of the month The Sun reported face-to-face talks between the former Bournemouth boss, Dermot Desmond and Dom McKay.
Nothing has since emerged from either side although a source close to Howe contacted Sky Sports News to inform them that the 43-year-old wouldn’t be making any decision until the summer.
It is now more than two months since Neil Lennon resigned, in under 100 days Celtic are involved in Champions League qualifiers with almost everyone outside of the club acknowledging that a massive rebuild is required in the summer.
Howe is stalling. But at least there’s a legit reason. Even if you do wonder. Keane doesn’t think he gets it. No sign of Celtic going elsewhere yet. But it’s dragging. Need director of football sorted. https://t.co/172Rp0dNVm

A deal may very well be agreed with Howe but after Jose Mourinho was sacked by Spurs last week there is the possibility of liquidity coming into the EPL managerial market.
With five years in the top flight at Bournemouth on his CV there are bound to be clubs considering Howe for any vacancy while he remains a free agent.
@reluctantnicko The longer Howe stalls, timeframe for new staff in place at Celtic gets tighter. Would like to see Harkin or Tognozzi as Director of Football. Harkin’s knowledge and his connections at City would be helpful.
