Some were primed for a 7am Stock Exchange announcement, when it came to the late morning announcement they were underwhelmed.
Dom McKay was lined up to become CEO on July 1, bringing that forward to April 19 wasn’t quite the big statement that fans were looking for.
The state of play regarding Eddie Howe is the issue occupying the thoughts of supporters as they look for signs of hope going into next season.
The former Bournemouth boss has been available since August, Neil Lennon resigned in February but into April Celtic are still in the dark about who will oversee the biggest overhaul of players this Century.
Champions League qualifiers are just over three months away, who will be lining up for Celtic in those games is anyone’s guess with the identity of the management team still to be determined.
With McKay taking over from Peter Lawwell one variable has been removed. Whether a manager or Director of Football is next in the door isn’t yet known but the longer Howe remains at large the more questions will be asked over whether or not he is taking the job on.
Dom McKay will join #CelticFC from April 19, 2021 before taking on the role of CEO on July 1.

Welcome to our club I look forward to you planning our fightback. Three things to remember 1. We always pay our debts. 2. There is no such thing as the ‘old firm’ and 3. Leave the transfers to the football men. HH
