Willie Collum denied Scott Brown a winning farewell as the midfielder ended his Celtic career in a goal-less draw at Easter Road.

In the 33rd minute the Lanarkshire based referee made the key intervention of the match. With Odsonne Edouard starting his run up to take a free kick Collum held his hand up to stop the free-kick being taken- as the Frenchman sent the ball into the net.

Apparently Collum wasn’t happy with the Hibs players in the wall but since he had marked out a line for them he could have handed out some yellow cards. He chose not to, the free-kick was retaken and charged down. The match ended goal-less with Brown completing the full 90 minutes.

It was a typical display from Collum, wanting to be the centre of attention in a match that meant next to nothing.

The Hibs players seemed to have licence to do as they please with Greg Taylor a regular target. Throughout the game they regularly used their arms to knock Celtic players off balance, midway through the second half Alex Gogic was booked for elbowing Taylor in the face, three years ago at Ibrox Collum was red carding Jozo Simunovic for a lesser offence.

Brown now heads off to Pittodrie, unfortunately for Celtic Collum will be back again next season after missing out on being selected for the European Championships.
