Dom McKay met Celtic supporters yesterday in a virtual Fans Forum but had no news about Season Tickets.
Clearly appointing a new manager is the prime task for the in-coming CEO but running in tandem with that is the need to address the issue of Season Tickets which has been the backbone of Celtic’s income over the years.
Mackay seems to have built up a strong reputation for sponsorship and commercial deals at the SRU but those issues aren’t quite as critical at Celtic.
The relationship between the hierarchy of the club and the fans that fill the stands, or don’t fill the stands, has deteriorated rapidly with the promise of ‘added value’ on the 2020/21 Season Ticket a major issue.
Other than being able to watch one Betfred Cup tie and one Europa League qualifier fans seemed to be given the short end of the deal as they tuned in to Celtic TV for a season of misery.
It seems that the club has no plans to offer Season Ticket holders a refund or discount for next season, coupled with uncertainty over the manager and squad that sort of attitude could turn away thousands of fans.
With no news of what sort of capacity Celtic Park will have from month-to-month next season there is no easy solution but 14 months after the last home crowd it seems that the club is in the dark about how to relate to and deal with Season Ticket holders.

European Championships and discussions with various Government groups have McKay optimistic of fans back in the stadium come August.
How that will look is still unclear but 12,000 at Hampden for Euros is the benchmark.

Season Tickets 20/21 and 21/22
Still in consultation regarding this. Understand frustrations of the fans & trying to weigh this up with needs for forthcoming season.
No decisions have been made, still listening to fans while preparing different models.

I found Dominic to be engaging and personable. His positivity is infectious, I’m sure this will spread throughout the entire Club. I look forward to seeing the first signs of modernisation within the Club as we begin the rebuild. pic.twitter.com/IRzEh5DXO6

Absolutely, a massive job.
But this Club is at a real low just now. This is the type of positivity we need to turn this massive ship around.
