Ahead of Scott Brown’s final home match Celtic fans didn’t really need another reminder of the recently ended Golden Days.

For seven of the nine successive title winning seasons Mikael Lustig was in the huddle alongside Scott Brown, becoming an adopted Celt as the hoops swept up the domestic honours.

Like Henrik Larsson and Johan Mjallby before him Lustig quickly got what Celtic meant, tapping into the emotions of the support to play a key role in the recent successes.

Just over three years ago PC Lustig was centre stage of the celebrations as he grabbed a Police hat as he celebrated a goal from James Forrest as the title was won in a 5-0 Glasgow Derby triumph.

There was to be one final season together for the Brown and Lustig Double Act with the Swede signing off with the pass that allowed Odsonne Edouard to complete the Treble Treble with the winning goal against Hearts in the Scottish Cup Final.

An empty Celtic Park isn’t the backdrop that Brown would have anticipated for his Celtic farewell but he’ll leave with plenty of memories as well as 22 winners medals.
