Steven Gerrard has defied the Scottish Government by urging people in higher places to show a bit of heart ahead of his side being presented with the SPFL trophy.
Thousands of fans are expected to break the law by congregating at Ibrox on Saturday in a repeat of the shameful scenes in March that left George Square trashed, a spike in infections and 36 Police Officers having to self-isolate.
Last night hundreds of fans gathered in a corner at Livingston to let off flares in a clear breach of the Law, afterwards Gerrard as good as excused their actions which were saluted by his players at the end of the match.
??”They’ve followed near and far, through thick and thin. But as manager of this club I need to send the message – they need to remain safe.”

For me as manager of the club I have to send a message that they have to remain safe and listen to the rules that are in place. But I also think that people in higher places have got to show a bit of heart and understand and hope that common sense will prevail.
On Tuesday Police Scotland appealed to fans to stay away from Ibrox on Saturday, yesterday Justice Secretary Humza Yousaf made a similar appeal.
Clearly after getting a friend to video his arrival at Ibrox to the adulation of hundreds of law breaking fans Gerrard believes that he is above the law.
After the 3-0 win over St Mirren he was seen screaming out the dressing room window as he encouraged fans to break the law.
