Wouter Vrancken wants to bring Marian Shved back to Mechelen for another season.

The winger was sent out on loan to the Belgian side last August after making just three substitute appearances in the season that ended in March due to August.

Shved’s arrived at Celtic under a cloud when Brendan Rodgers when Brendan Rodgers distanced himself from the move. Immediately he returned to Karpaty Lviv on loan with Rodgers leaving for Leicester within a month of the deal being completed.

The Sun reports Vrancken saying:

We have two loan players – Marian Shved and Ferdy Druijf – who have told us that they want to stay here next season too.

So we have to see what Celtic and AZ say about it and try to come to an agreement with them. We are hoping to have some news about them both in the coming days.

Who would make a decision at Celtic is the big question with an interim Manager, handover at CEO level and the Head of Football Operations resigning last month.

Shved is under contract until May 2023, any immediate decision about his future would suggest that a manager is making decisions in the background.

The January 2019 Transfer Window wasn’t the greatest with Shved arriving at the same time as Vakoun Bayo, Andrew Gutman and Manny Perez, with two appearances Bayo is the only signing to have started a first team match.
