Odsonne Edouard is reported to be closing in on a reunion with Brendan Rodgers.

The striker looks certain to leave Celtic this summer with the club hoping that a bidding war can push up the transfer fee.

Despite being below par this season Edouard has scored 21 goals for Celtic and became the all-time top scorer for the French u-21 side.

That sort of pedigree guarantees respect and attention with England the most likely destination for the former Paris Saint Germain youth team striker.

The Sunday Mail reports:

MailSport understands the French ace is now high up on ex-gaffer Brendan Rodgers list of summer targets.

The Foxes boss is keen to add a front-man to his squad for their Premier League assault next term, alongside Jamie Vardy and Kelechi Iheanacho.

Edouard’s situation at Celtic is one Rodgers and City are now actively exploring, with the 23-year-old’s future at Parkhead up in the air.

With no new manager in place, it looks certain that he’ll leave Glasgow this summer, with the likes of Arsenal also showing an interest.

Although Celtic only have two more games to play Edouard will be involved at the u-21 European Championships in June and the Olympic Games which starts in July and could run on until August.

Getting an early deal completed for Edouard might not be very popular but it would help to generate funds for Celtic’s new management team.

With Patryk Klimala sold to New York RB last month and Leigh Griffiths out of contract putting together a strike force will be a priority for a new manager with Albian Ajeti and Vakoun Bayo not inspiring confidence.
