After a season tucked up inside the safety of the Ibrox bubble Alfredo Morelos has tested positive in international duty with Colombia. No other players in their squad for World Cup qualifiers against Peru and Argentina.

While every other SPFL Premiership club had players test positive and forced to self-isolate the Ibrox club got through the season without any problems.

Twice groups of Ibrox players were issued with Fixed Penalties after being caught at house parties but fortunately none of them returned a positive test.

Last night the Colombian FA announced:

The technical body of the Colombian Male Elderly Team reports that, following the biosafety protocols, the RT PCR tests were carried out and two positive cases were found, the player Alfredo Morelos and the kinesiologist José Rendón.

After knowing the positive results, following the protocols, the respective isolation of the two people was carried out, who at the moment are asymptomatic.

Morelos has been mixing freely with Ibrox fans over the last few months, drinking in public and lapping up the adulation. It is believed that the Ibrox club have had their testing results processed at an elite laboratory in Belfast.

The former HJK Helsinki starlet hasn’t played any international matches this season. Following the matches against Peru and Argentina, Colombia will take part in the month long Copa America hosted by Argentina.
