Andy Walker has been banned from matches at Celtic Park.

Sky Sports haven’t been near a game at Celtic Park since the March 21 Glasgow Derby with the former hoops striker hitting the headlines yesterday after being barred from Ibrox.

This season is the first of a five year exclusive broadcasting deal between Sky Sports and the SPFL with their £25m effectively keeping the game viable with fans prevented from attending.

For the last half dozen years Walker has been the regular co-commentator with Ian Crocker with Sky enjoying the pick of the domestic matches with the Glasgow derby given full treatment.

Kris Boyd, James McFadden and Ally McCoist are regulars on Sky’s coverage of the SPFL but Walker is almost always the man in the commentary box describing the action.

The Sun reports:

FORMER Celtic striker Andy Walker is at the centre of a bitter Old Firm rammy – banned from Ibrox AND Parkhead.

SunSport understands Sky Sports pundit Walker has been told to stay away by livid Rangers after recently claiming on air their finances are in a ‘perilous’ state.

And it’s now emerged he’s also persona non grata at the very ground he made his name and was a centenary Double winning hero.

Celtic are believed to still be furious over Walker’s outspoken criticism of their controversial trip to Dubai in January for a winter training camp.

We can reveal the stunned 56-year-old – one of Sky Sports’ leading commentators on Scottish football since 2009 – has turned to lawyers over his situation.

Sky – who pour £25million a year into the SPFL for coverage of the Premiership – have yet to make comment.

It is very rare for Celtic to take any action against a media outlet, in January Neil Lennon announced that Sky were banned until he got an apology over comments from Walker, Celtic completely ignored Lennon’s ban giving Sky full access to players.
