Stephen McGowan has splashed with Celtic’s moves for Ange Postecoglu as the favourite to replace Neil Lennon.
After the best part of two months in which it was assumed that a deal with Eddie Howe was in the bag the Daily Mail reporter was first out the traps on Friday afternoon with news that the move for the former Bournemouth boss was off.
Tellingly his introduction provided some hope. After announcing that the Howe deal had collapsed he added ‘the Parkhead club have now entered advanced talks with another candidate’.
This morning Daily Mail readers are being informed:
++ Celtic Ange
++ League Cup threat to Lowland League over Brechin entry

Should Peter Lawwell leave with immediate effect?
Yes, utterly toxic, the rebuild starts when he leaves
No, we need his experience for the handover
It seems an incredible drop in standards to go from someone on the back of five seasons experience in the EPL to a coach whose only European experience was two matches in the Greek Third Division with Panachaiki more than a decade ago.
After leading Australia to the 2014 World Cup Finals in Brazil no worthwhile club in Europe thought about bringing Postecoglu in as their manager.
Selling a 55-year-old Greek Australian to the Celtic support is going to be quite a task with Dom McKay one month away from being in charge following a very troubled handover from Peter Lawwell.
Postecoglu is currently in charge of Yokohama Marinos ,CLICK HERE for his managerial profile.
