It was unlucky 13 for Jonjoe Kenny at Ibrox today as he made that landmark appearance in the hoops.
In his two previous appearances in the Glasgow derby he had given Celtic fans plenty of reasons to be concerned. During the Scottish Cup defeat last month only the 45 minute horror show of Diego Laxalt took attention away from the on-loan Everton defender.
Within the first 10-15 minutes there were worrying signs on the right of the Celtic defence, calling Kenny a rabbit trapped in headlights would be polite.
Last season he made 31 Bundesliga appearances for Schalke 04 which should offer a level of competency but that has been marked absent from most of his Celtic displays.
In possession today he looked confused and fearful, out of possession elementary aspects of defending evaded him as he was constantly out of position with little awareness of where his team-mates or opponents were.
In two matches time he’ll return to Everton with one year left on his contract, unlike Paddy Roberts there will be absolutely no please to ‘bring him home’ every time a Transfer window approaches.
