TRY and obey the law- Gerrard issues half-hearted message to his Covidiot fans

Steven Gerrard has urged his Covidiot fans to TRY and live within the Laws of the Land.

With Glasgow in Stage Three of Lockdown people can’t gather in groups of more than six but across Social Media plans are in place for thousands to descend on Ibrox tomorrow lunchtime then march to George Square.

Police Scotland and the Scottish Government have covered themselves by issuing statements but it is unlikely that the levels of policing seen yesterday in Pollokshields will be deployed on Saturday.

Back in March Gerrard encouraged law-breaking by screaming out of a Dressing Room window while his players ran towards fences to celebrate with fans at Ibrox and Murray Park. Rioting fans caused thousands of pounds to memorial benches in George Square but no action was taken against the club by the Police or football authorities.

Covidiot fans were out in force at Livingston in midweek, letting off fireworks then being acknowledged by the Ibrox players after the final whistle.

At today’s media conference (8 minutes) Gerrard said:

My message for the fans would be that obviously the police and the government have put statements out and I think it is important that we try and follow them. I want them to enjoy themselves and obviously things have changed from the last time in March.

You are actually allowed to come out now, but it is important that they remain safe, follow the rules and the distance, but certainly enjoy the occasion.
