Glasgow city centre resembled a war zone tonight as thousands of Covidiots trashed ‘the dear green place’.
The Scottish Government and Police Scotland had ample warning of what to expect but seemed powerless to act as drunken yobs laid siege with a trail of vandalism and destruction.
From first thing this morning fans gathered illegally at Ibrox with fireworks greeting the arrival of Steven Gerrard’s team at the stadium. Yesterday Nicola Sturgeon announced that Glasgow will remain in Tier 3 due to a surge in positive test cases.
With Covidiots arriving unhindered from across Scotland there are now real concerns that the virus will be given the chance to surge throughout the country again.

In the last hour I’ve witnessed this guy have his head kicked in and another with a serious head trauma which the police let four ambulances go by up to George Sq as there is obviously worse going on up there. Lovely Rangers fans pic.twitter.com/cM2tDWTn8G

Back in March the authorities were given a taster of what to expect, the softly softly approach completely failed with the citizens of Glasgow left to pick up the bill in terms of damages and remaining in Lockdown.
Almost all city centre businesses closed at lunchtime in anticipation of the carnage to come later in the day.
Where does the anger come from, among each other?? I honestly don’t get it ???? pic.twitter.com/IjEQBZgNpT
