Wilson names the number of new starters that Celtic’s next boss has to find

Mark Wilson believes that only three players at Ibrox yesterday will be involved in next season’s new look hoops.

Whoever takes on the job of manager faces a massive rebuild after a season of complete failure.

Two loan players made it into John Kennedy’s starting XI, Scott Brown has announced his move to Aberdeen with uncertainty in almost every position.

Odsonne Edouard and Kris Ajer are likely to attract the biggest fees but it is the player coming in that will be of most interest to worried Celtic fans.

Listening in to Wilson’s appearance on Sky Sports this morning, the Daily Record reports him saying:

Celtic have to find a way to get over this mental block and it will be totally different next season because eight of the starting XI probably won’t be facing Rangers at the start of next season. The game summed up Rangers’ season – at one end of the field they have a goalkeeper they can trust, a back four that looks solid and a clinical frontline.

Even when chances don’t look like chances they put them away and Celtic have been the opposite of everything Rangers have been. I expected more from Celtic, I think a lot of people did with it being the last in this fixture for a number of players.

Scott Brown could be followed by Odsonne Edouard, Kris Ajer and Ryan Christie and it unravelled in an unfortunate manner.

It is more than two months since Neil Lennon resigned, with just two matches left to play expectations among supporters is high that a new manager is on the way.

Dom McKay has been shadowing Peter Lawwell for two weeks but has yet to make any sort of comment after attending three away matches.
