There wasn’t much backing for Leigh Griffiths on Twitter with all the indications being that his Celtic career ends today.
Since June 18 Celtic have been training at Lennoxtown, for whatever reasons Griffiths has been training solo with images and videos shared on Social Media.
A phone call from Ange Postecoglou seemed to suggest that a new contract was possible but with each passing day without the striker being seen at Lennoxtown the chances of a new deal have declined.
Today references to Celtic disappeared from the striker’s Social Media accounts, alongside a video of him wearing Scotland kit in training.
As a goalscorer it is relatively easy for Griffiths to win supporters over but the last few seasons has saw backing for the striker start to fall.
Neil Lennon’s comments last week weren’t very diplomatic but revealed some of the details behind Lockdown and Griffiths missing out on Celtic’s pre-season matches in France.
Next week Postecoglou takes his squad to Wales, once again Griffiths looks like being on the outside looking in.
