Celtic are reported to have blown the opposition out of the water with their offer for Mario Vuskovic.
Hadjuk Split have the defender signed up on a long-term contract but after impressing for Croatia at the u-21 European Championships it looks like this transfer window is the time to cash in.
Kris Ajer seems likely to leave Celtic this summer leaving options thin on the ground in central defence with Vuskovic fitting in with the profile of recent transfer windows although that was altered last summer to bring in the more experienced duo of Albian Ajeti and Vasilis Barkas.
Discussing Vuskovic, The Sun reports:
But SunSport understands the Hoops have blown the Serie A side out of the water when it comes to the wages on offer.
The Parkhead side are ready to hand 19-year-old Vuskovic a four-year deal worth £12,000 a week — more than double Torino’s financial package.
Dutch outfit Feyenoord and Basel of Switzerland are also monitoring the situation. But the Croatian Under-21 stopper’s advisors feel that a summer switch to Scotland could be in his best interests.
Celtic news

Should Celtic be paying out £3-5m for Mario Vuskovic?
Yes, he seems exactly what we need to bring in
No, massive risk, we need experience in defence
Celtic have previously scouted Croatia to sign Jozo Simunovic with Filip Benkovic coming to the club on loan in 2018.
With Chris Jullien recovering from the knee surgery that he underwent in January the only central defenders currently available to Ange Postecoglou are Stephen Welsh and Nir Bitton.
