Armstrong Okoflex is close to agreeing a contract to join West Ham.

The winger joined Celtic from Arsenal three years ago but like many players in his situation was unable to bridge the gap between Academy football and first team action.

Brendan Rodgers put Okoflex on the bench in February 2019 when ‘Scott Brown won the league at Rugby Park’ but his only top team appearances came two years later when 13 players had to self-isolate.

The fact that Oko-Flex hadn’t been in the squad that flew to Dubai explains how far out of the picture he had drifted.

The Herald reports:

Armstrong Okoflex is in London to finalise a move from Celtic to West Ham. Herald and Times Sport understands the Hoops youngster travelled down south to complete the move after the Hammers made their interest known this summer.

Okoflex, 19, joined Celtic back in 2019 but struggled to push through from the academy side and into the first-team under Neil Lennon.

At his age the Dublin-born winger has plenty of time to build his career with West Ham having an established set up to bring players through the ranks.

The next batch of prospects like Oko Flex will get their chance to play regularly with Celtic Colts in the Lowland League from next month.
