Daily Mail reports Jack Hendry deal

Transfer

The Daily Mail has reported that Jack Hendry has been sold to Oostende for £1.75m.

Following a highly successful season with the Belgian side the defender is in the Scotland squad for the European Championships and celebrated with his first international goal last week in the 2-2 draw with Holland last week.

Hendry has dropped to sixth choice central defender when he left Celtic on loan last summer but the loan deal with Oostende seemed weighted all in favour of the Belgian side.

If he flopped he would be shipped back to Celtic, if he made a success of the loan Oostende had an agreed transfer fee and the strong likelihood that he could be sold on for an instant profit.

The BBC Gossip page reports:

Aston Villa and Burnley have been linked with Hendry with the Belgian league heavily scouted by English clubs.

The Daily Record previously reported that there was a May 31 deadline for Oostende to take up their option to buy but neither club has commented on a permanent transfer being completed.

Celtic were reported to have paid between £1.2-1.5m for Hendry in January 2018.
