Marian Shved is wanted by Mechelen with the Belgian side confident that the winger wants to return for a second season on loan.
The Ukrainian is one of many fringe Celtic players that could be given a fresh start by Ange Postecoglou although few of them have impressed on loan.
Shved, Vakoun Bayo and Boli Bolingoli were three of the disastrous signings of 2019 that spent last season out of sight and out of mind.
It is difficult to see any of them forcing their way into Postecoglou’s side but while they remain under contract solutions have to be found.
Eager to come back- transfer update on loan bhoy (Mechelen coach Wouter) hopes to welcome two more players (again) soon: Ferdy Druijf and Marian Shved. “They are eager to come back to play for us, but we have to wait for an agreement at club level. If they come in, then we are in very good shape for this season.”
Shved made three substitute appearances totalling less than 45 minutes during the 2019/20 season before being sent out on loan last summer.
James Forrest, Mikey Johnston and Karamoko Dembele look like being the only wingers available to Postecoglou for the start of competitive action with none of them getting any sort of run of form last season.
