Celtic fans got their first look at Liam Shaw as a nervous new bhoy was interviewed for Celtic TV.
The 20-year-old came through the ranks at Sheffield Wednesday but with so much uncertainty around the club and relegation on the horizon he accepted an offer to move to Celtic with the security of a four year contract.
It could hardly be a more interesting time to join Celtic with a massive turnover expected on the playing front while a new manager and CEO get used to their new roles at the club.
Shaw played under three managers last season at Wednesday but starts his new chapter on Friday when he reports to Lennoxtown for pre-season training.
With six players involved at the European Championships and others given an extended break due to international friendlies running into June the new bhoy will be among a very youthful group reporting for training.
Kris Ajer was the handover signing from Ronny Deila to Brendan Rodgers, if Shaw does half as well as the Norwegian he’ll be well on his way to forging a career in the game.
