As Peter Lawwell attempts to put together one more deal at Celtic, The Green Brigade have reminded the hoops CEO of one of his greatest failures.
Way back in February Neil Lennon read the room and resigned on the back of another defeat from Ross County- since August the Celtic hierarchy had put their trust in the former Bolton boss.
A week after reports of being in advanced talks for Plan B after being turned down by Eddie Howe, Celtic remain managerless.
Defeat to Ferencvaros was catastrophic, much like Lennon’s post-match comments when he blamed the defeat on players that didn’t want to be here. It was downhill from there with Lawwell failing to react.

Losing the Glasgow Derby without getting a shot on target failed to budge Lawwell, that was the start of four consecutive home defeats. Back-to-back 4-1 hammerings from Sparta Prague simply saw Lawwell and his boardroom chums double down. Then there was Dubai.
When Lennon walked few could have guessed that well into June Celtic would still be managerless, any legacy that Lawwell had hoped to salvage has gone.
With less than four weeks till the CEO packs his bags it is 50-50 whether there will be a manager in place before the long-awaited departure.
