More Alfredo woe as Porto refuse to offer Dembele Dollars for wantaway Ibrox superstar

|

Alfredo Morelos is facing more transfer heartache with a dream move to Porto on the brink of collapse.

Colombian sources reported that personal terms had been agreed between the player and the club but after three years talking about Dembele Dollars the Portuguese side aren’t prepared to go above £10m for Morelos.

That fee would be a club record and show a massive profit on the bad-tempered striker but having previously dismissed speculation suggesting £40m bids could be round the corner the Ibrox club can’t lose faith with their fans on a £10m offer.

The Sun reports:

Porto are reluctant to initially splash out more than £10million up front. They want to structure the transfer with a number of add-ons with more money paid at a later date — a move which is not suitable to Rangers.

Porto, who met representatives of Morelos last week, are free to spend again after four years of Uefa restrictions for breaching financial fair play rules.

Since January 2018 and a mystery offer from a mystery club in China the Ibrox side have been hyping up Morelos despite no realistic interest in the former HJK Helsinki starlet.

Director of Football Ross Wilson is now into his fourth transfer window with the £185,000 fee from Hull City for Greg Docherty the biggest fee that he has brought in.

In their recent share prospectus through a third party it was revealed that Dave King has to be repaid £5m by the end of October 2021.
