Being drawn to play against Midtjylland in a Champions League qualifier wasn’t the big issue for Celtic fans.
Who’ll be wearing the hoops in Ange Postecoglou’s first competitive match on July 20/21 is the most pressing matter as far as supporters are concerned.
Last week the 106 days search for a manager ended with the appointment of the Australian but since then there hasn’t been much movement.
No new signings or coaches have accompanied Postecoglou into the job with the arrival of the boss awaited with players returning for pre-season training this week.
From the squad that finished last season four loan have returned to their parent clubs with six currently involved with the Scotland squad at the European Championships. With Scott Brown at Aberdeen and doubts over the future of Leigh Griffiths and Tony Ralston there is a distinct lack of numbers for the return to training.
Liam Shaw will be one new face involved with his former club, Sheffield Wednesday providing the opposition for the first pre-season match on July 7.
Time is certainly against Postecoglou as the reaction from fans to today’s draw indicates.

Wouldn’t be confident against any euro team tbh.
When you look at the squad we have left we should ship half of them . We really need 7-8 new first team ready players ASAP.— J (@jasonpl) June 16, 2021
