Jack Hendry has agreed terms for a three year contract with KV Oostende- but there has been no word from Celtic or the Belgian club about the move.

Last month it was reported that Oostende had until May 31 to take up an option on the defender who was on loan but both clubs have kept quiet about a deal going through.

Hendry is about to rejoin the Scotland squad for the European Championships after coming in from the cold following an outstanding season in Belgium that seems likely to see him move on elsewhere.

The Daily Record reports:

Celtic star Jack Hendry has agreed a three year deal with KV Oostende – but likely to be sold for a quick profit after Euro 2020.

The Belgium side confirmed several weeks ago that they were going to take up the option that was part of their loan agreement with Celtic.

KV have thrashed out terms with Hendry and are set to pay the £1.5 million transfer fee that is due to his current club.

The Jupiler League outfit are aware there is significant interest in the Scot and are they could make a significant profit on their summer investment.

Hendry left Celtic last summer with barely a mention. A loan spell at Melbourne City had been cut short due to a knee injury with Nir Bitton and Hatem Abd Elhamed ahead of him for a place at Celtic with Shane Duffy brought in on loan at the start of September.

With Kris Ajer pushing for a transfer Celtic are badly short of numbers in central defence with Chris Jullien still in rehab after knee surgery at the start of the year.
