Billy Gilmour has tested positive and is out of Scotland’s final European Championship group match against Croatia tomorrow night.

The positive test was returned this morning and puts the double standards of the SFA in the spotlight compared to their treatment of Celtic in January after their Dubai trip.

The Scottish Government must now decide which of Gilmour’s team-mates will have to self-isolate.

Gilmour started the match against England on Friday night, mixing freely with his team-mates before and after the match.

Gilmour’s Scotland team-mates are due to fly from Teeside to Glasgow today where the local Health Board can work out close contacts that need to self isolate.

The Chelsea midfielder flew with the squad back from London to Teeside, played golf with the squad on Saturday then trained on Sunday.

Earlier this month in Spain John Fleck also tested positive with six team-mates left out of flights to Portugal as ‘a precaution’.

Back in October Stuart Armstrong tested positive with Ryan Christie and Kieran Tierney identified as close contacts and forced to miss internationals, Arsenal dismissed the SFA testing and played Tierney while Christie missed a Glasgow derby.

Gilmour has deleted Instagram pictures of him playing Table Tennis with John McGinn and Andy Robertson.
