John Hartson has posted an emotional message of support to Bertie Auld and his family.

The two men belong to very different eras at Celtic but know the fantastic pull of the club, the shirt and a support that never forgets those that bring honour to the club.

Auld spans through an incredible time at Celtic, being in the squad for the 7-1 game then being at the centre of the club’s finest hour, a decade later in Lisbon where legends were made.

Over the last 20 years Bertie has been the most public face of the Lions, someone that subsequent signings have identified with as they discover the special magic that Celtic creates.

Hartson had his own health issues a decade ago, restored to full health he is well thought of at a number of clubs but with his home in Edinburgh and a Scottish wife he doesn’t hold back or hide his affection for the club he joined in 2001 then netted over 100 goals for.
