Kris Ajer picked out John Kennedy for a special mention as he signed off from five years at Celtic.
Almost 200 appearances over four seasons and a profit of over £10m makes the transfer one of the most successful business deals in Celtic’s history.
The name check for Kennedy was something of a surprise to Celtic fans on social media with the 38-year-old having his reputation tarnished for his involvement last season.
When Kennedy stayed on at Celtic when Brendan Rodgers upped sticks in February 2019 he was widely praised but last season’s collapse seems to have changed that perception.
As a central defender Ajer will have turned to the assistant manager/first team coach for help as his career developed in that position but it seems that the praise goes a bit deeper than tips on defensive positioning.
Kennedy has been retained by Ange Postecoglou, if one of the biggest success stories of the Quadruple Treble decides to highlight his role it is a view worth listening to.

Maybe top footballers such as Ajer who’s now gone to the EPL in a deal worth around £15M, and KT who said similar after he made a £25M move to Arsenal are on to something about this John Kennedy guy!

Here, maybe the Ajer comment was BOTH shots fired at Lennon cos he’s a terrible football manager AND praise of Kennedy cos he’s good at his job.

I struggle to understand the constant hatred for Kennedy.
Ajer leaves a personal “Thank You” for Kennedy for developing him as a player & section of our Fans go??
I understand we all have a voice on Social Media but some of you do more harm to Celtic than good ?
