Erik Sviatchenko has decided to speak to a Scottish radio station about rumours and speculation of a return to Celtic.

Before the end of this month either Celtic or Midtjylland will have progressed into the third qualifying round of the Champions League.

Sviatchenko admits that both clubs are in his hear after transferring back and forward between Scotland and Denmark.

Rather than keep a low profile ahead of the Champions League ties the defender decided to speak to Go Radio with the Daily Record reporting him saying:

I’ve heard those rumours too but it’s difficult for me to say more. When it’s rumours, it’s rumours. Unless I hear anything else it’s just a rumour.

But I’ve always said Celtic is close to my heart as is Midtjylland. Those are the two clubs that I follow and whatever happens, happens. It’s not up to me.

You could argue that Celtic know what they would be getting with me and I know what the club is about but it’s so difficult to talk about transfer rumours. For now it’s just speculation. I just have to focus on what is there.

Sviatchenko joined Celtic in January 2016, making a positive impact as the season almost fell apart with Ronny Deila deciding to step down.

Under Brendan Rodgers it looked like he would be a mainstay in the side but the return of Dedryck Boyata in January 2017 put his position in doubt before he moved back to Midtjylland, initially on loan then on a permanent basis.
