Ange brings back the big hitters but finds a starting place for Karamoko

Ange Postecoglou has some of his European Championship players involved in today’s friendly against Charlton.

Three weeks ago Callum McGregor, David Turnbull and Greg Taylor were preparing to face Croatia at Hampden but today they’ll be out to impress their new club manager in the Welsh sunshine.

With transfer speculation surrounding Kris Ajer, Ryan Christie and Odsonne Edouard none of that trio starts today’s match as Ange Postecoglou looks towards players likely to be at the club when the transfer window closes.

Teenagers Karamoko Dembele and Adam Montgomery are given the wide roles with Turnbull tucking in behind Albian Ajeti, McGregor captains the Celtic side.

Today’s match will be back to the traditional two halves of 45 minutes, on Tuesday Celtic face Bristol City before returning to Glasgow where they will face Preston on Saturday.

CELTIC: Barkas; Ralston, Welsh, Bitton, Taylor: McGregor, Soro; Karamoko, Turnbull, Montgomery; Ajeti
