Ange Postecoglou is confident that Liel Abadu will be the first of many new faces at Celtic.

Just after 6pm on Wednesday the hoops announced the signing of the Israeli winger with the fee reported to be around £3.5m.

Throughout the day there were encouraging signs that Carl Starfelt will soon be added to the Celtic defence as the long awaited rebuild gets underway.

Celtic have to register their squad to face Midtjylland by 11pm tonight but two additional signings can be added by 11pm on Monday, the night before the clash against the Danes.

Providing a transfer update, Postecoglou told the Daily Record:

We’re working hard on others. The idea is to get them in as soon as we can, but the world is a complicated place at the moment.

It’s not as easy as putting people on planes and they are here in a day. We’re working through it. I’m confident we will have more in the building in the next week or so.

At the same time as players are arriving it is likely that there will also be departures.

Celtic have quietly trimmed their squad this year with Hatem Abd Elhamed, Jeremie Frimpong, Patryk Klimala, Vakoun Bayo and Jack Hendry moved on for the best part of £15m.

Odsonne Edouard, Kris Ajer, Ryan Christie and Olivier Ntcham are all in the final year of their contract with no sign that any of them will be signing a new deal.
