Celtic look like taking on Midtjylland in front of a near empty stadium on July 20.

Today it was announced that just 2,000 fans will be allowed in to watch next Saturday’s friendly at home to Preston North End.

Unless there is a massive change of hear by the authorities it looks like there will be a similar sized crowd watching the Champions League qualifier against the Danes.

Two weeks ago at their media conferences Ange Postecoglou and Dom McKay were talking up the positive impact of playing in front of Celtic supporters. That day record numbers of fans renewed their Season Tickets.

The matches against Preston and Midtjylland were included on the Season Ticket but now it looks certain that fans will have to watch online or with Premier Sport who will show both legs of the Midtjylland tie.

In terms of team news Postecoglou will have his work cut out to have a recognisable team on the park on July 20 with Osaze Urhoghide the only player to be added to last season’s squad.
