Jean-Kevin Augustin is reported to be a transfer target for Celtic.

The striker is out of favour at Nantes with that position one of many at Celtic in need f instant strengthening.

Augustin came through the youth ranks at Paris Saint Germain but has been unable to nail down a regular slot during spells at RB Leipzig, Leeds or Nantes over the last three seasons.

French website Homme de Match reports:

Multiplying the avenues to compensate for a possible departure of Odsonne Édouard in the Premier League, Celtic Glasgow is closely interested, according to our information, in FC Nantes striker Jean-Kévin Augustin.

The player who struggles to confirm the hopes placed in him when he left PSG for RB Leipzig is currently sent to reserve by Nantes coach Antoine Kombouaré who no longer relies on him. The Istanbul club of Fenerbahçe is also in the running.

Life at Celtic has certainly suited Moussa Dembele and Odsonne Edouard but with the club in such a fragile state there isn’t any scope for project signings looking to find their feet.

At the age of 24 Augustin needs to find a stable club where he can play his way in- at Celtic there is a clamour for a striker who will be pushing 30 goals a season.

So far there has been no update on Brighton’s interest in Edouard, Albian Ajeti and Leigh Griffiths are the only strikers at Celtic with Kyoho Furuhashi still to come out of quarantine.
