Celtic have been linked with a move for Peru international striker Gianluca Lapadula.

With Odsonne Edouard liable to be sold at any moment bringing in another striker will be a priority for Ange Postecoglou.

Last season Lapadula scored eight goals in 37 Serie A appearances for Benevento but it was at Copa America where he caught the eye, helping Peru to a place in the semi-finals.

A PERU IS WORTH Lapadula was valued at $ 9 million for the Benevento that has received concrete offers from Glasgow and Celtic. If the “Bambino” agrees to go to Scotland, he would play the Champions League.

Celtic would be highly unlikely to spend $9m on a 31-year-old but the need for a striker could become a priority of Brighton come in with an offer of over £20m for Edouard. That would also be difficult for Celtic to turn down.

Postecoglou has a number of squad related issues to deal with as he tries to steer Celtic into the group stage of the Champions League with a squad that has barely changed from last season.

Lapadula is under contract with Benevento until 2023, he has joint Italian/Peruvian citizenship.
