Ross Doohan has joined Vasilis Barkas, Scott Bain and Conor Hazard at Celtic’ training camp in Wales.
The 23-year-old has still to make his first team debut but is highly rated across the Scottish game following successive seasons on loan at Ayr United and picking up 13 u-21 caps.
Making the breakthrough at Celtic has proved much tougher with the club currently having three full internationalists competing for the top spot.
Last season Doohan moved out on loan to Ross County but after a run of matches lost his place when Ross Laidlaw was recalled for the Betfred Cup win over Celtic.
When Barkas and Bain were forced to self-isolate after the January trip to Dubai Doohan’s loan to Ross County was cut short although he ended last season making two appearances for Dundee United.
Over three matches in Wales the 23-year-old looks certain to get some game time but it is hard to see how he forces his way into the first team past three rivals with speculation around that Celtic are looking to sign a new goalkeeper.
