Odsonne Edouard is reported to be a transfer target for Brighton with a fee reported to be in excess of £20m for the striker.

With less than a year to run on his contract that sort of fee would be difficult for Celtic to turn down even though Albian Ajeti and Leigh Griffiths hardly offer goalscoring alternatives based on their form last season.

Galetti works for Sport Italia where he specialises in coverage of AC Milan who have been linked with Edouard and Kris Ajer over the last 12 months.

Brighton probably wouldn’t be Edouard’s first choice to leave Celtic for but like Ajer the club is largely irrelevant when you can get a massive pay rise and the exposure of playing in the EPL.

Celtic signed Edouard on loan from Paris St Germain in the summer of 2017, a year later they made the deal permanent for a reported fee of £9m with some claims that PSG have a sell on clause of 40%.

Even after deducting that Celtic would be able to bank a similar fee to the Ajer deal to allow Ange Postecoglou to rebuild his squad.
