Liel Abada’s Dad has spoken in depth to the Daily Record about the winger’s move to Celtic.

Ronen Abada watched at close hand as a January move to Dinamo Kiev collapsed but seems very confident that his 19-year-old son is Celtic bound. With Dudu Dahan as agent it is unlikely that any last-minute snags will emerge.

Liel has made a big impact over the last 12 months with Maccabi Petah Tikva leading to the inevitable speculation about a move abroad.

Looking back at the collapse of the Kiev deal, Ronen told the Daily Record:

It was extremely difficult for Liel to pick up the pieces after that deal collapsed. This time, we have been very careful with the negotiations with Celtic and we are extremely confident he will sign.

Not many boys of his age would have been able to bounce back from that kind of disappointment and deal with the expectations after that. He will be in good hands at Celtic and we are waiting at home for the news to be confirmed.

Two weeks into his reign it seems that Dom McKay is about to deliver some players to enable Ange Postecoglou to reshape the Celtic team.

A deal seems close to completion to sign Carl Starfelt from Rubin Kazan but the clock is ticking rapidly towards Celtic’s Champions League qualifier against Midtjylland.

The deadline for signings is 11pm on Thursday but two players can be added to the squad before 11pm on Monday, the day before Celtic host the Danes.
