Fenerbahce are reported to be showing interest in Aurelio Buta.
The right-back has a year left to run on his Royal Antwerp contract with Celtic reported to have put in a bid of £2.1m to solve their problem position.
At 9.26am the Daily Record reported:
In-demand Aurelio Buta has been shortlisted by Fenerbahce – according to multiple reports in Turkey.
The 24-year-old Royal Antwerp right-back was a standout last season and a report claimed Celtic have submitted a bid for him.
What is clear, however, is Buta is a man in demand with Antwerp bracing themself for more interest in the coming days.
Buta joined Antwerp from Benfica in 2018 and looks likely to be sold during the current transfer window before he becomes a free agent in 12 months.
After being frozen out last season Tony Ralston has become Ange Postecoglou’s first choice at right-back with Lee O’Connor and Osaze Urhoghide as alternatives.
Any non-UK signings made by Celtic are likely to miss Saturday’s SPFL opener away to Hearts. If Celtic are successful against Midtjylland they will be away to PSV Eindhoven or Galatasaray on August 3 or 4, the third away match in eight days.
